If you appreciate the original virtual pet you would probably appreciate this classic Game Boy game. I purchased it because I collect Tamagotchi and figured this would be a nice addition to my collection. The main fault to the game is that it is EXACTLY like the virtual pet and makes it not exactly worth the original price, but if you can't get it for a cheaper price (I got mine used for $0.99 on Ebay) it might be worth it for you. One of the features I enjoyed was that you can play 3 characters simultaneously. It's a very simple game and great for anyone who knows how to operate a Game Boy console as far as difficulty goes.
There are other features that might make it worth your money, such as the tournaments, where you can compete with other tamagotchi characters once they reach a certain age.
I can say that while it is a very basic game, it is also a game that is a must-have for any serious Tamagotchi collector. If you cannot run a tamagotchi, perhaps playing this game might give you your fix.
